MARSHMALLOW MONDAY

In the name of craft and for a weekly writing exercise, I scoffed savored five marshmallows on the train into work this morning. I don’t have much of an appetite at 5:55 am, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Right?

I’m happy to report that I now (like I didn’t know before) have a good idea of what marshmallows taste like and I am able to come up with some interesting similes. Unfortunately, the taste bud exploration part of the exercise took up four of my sample set and I still needed to expose marshmallows to my other senses. The train’s pretty empty at this time of the morning so I only garnered a few strange glances as I sniffed, squeezed, then rolled the last marshmallow over my cheek. Let me tell you, it doesn’t matter how long or how close you hold a marshmallow against your ear, they don’t speak seashell nor any other language for that matter.

When the train pulled into the station, I gobbled up the last one and skipped to work to add caffeine to my sugar high.

Manic Monday?

I am currently researching three squares of dark chocolate. Researching, I say.

I don't believe that you have sufficient research material for conclusive findings. I think four squares is the bare minimum.

HOW did I miss this post until now? I am a crap blogreader, I fear. *cracks up at your description of your on-train activities*

And yet, the exercise is still not done! I fear it's going to take another bag. I'll be known on the train as that crazy marshmallow lady.
