SNOWDAY

Around noon, the boys, my dad and I, headed out bundled up to the nines. It's a short drive to our local sledding spot. Nothing glamorous or too steep, just a water catchment area really. Luckily for us, some previous sledders had built a little ramp, so the boys had lots of fun, judging by the squeals and laughing, speeding down the slope and then getting a little air before landing somewhat gently in the fluffy white stuff. We had the hill pretty much to ourselves and sledding fun was followed by a snowball battle. Dad and I had the advantage (as it should be) at the top of the hill, the boys while at the base, still managed to pelt us with snowmissiles. With pink cheeks and smiles we returned home and the boys set about building a snowman with a little help from Bella who, despite the snow, still wanted to play fetch. Her tennis ball didn't bounce so much as sink but she had tons of fun nosing through the snow until she found it.

Meet Walter the snowkid. A fine looking young man standing sentinel on our snow covered front lawn. Doesn't he just have the most gorgeous eyes? My fingers are still black from fishing them out of the charcoal bag next to the bbq. I guess I'll be wearing my other scarf to work tomorrow.

And now for a closeup of the other snowkids. What a great day! I love the snow.

Such great photos! And Walter is indeed one good-looking snow chap. My compliments to the boys!

I think Walter is our best snowman yet. I'm voting for a snowgirl for next time.

I never did either, but that's 'cos I grew up in South Africa and it only snows every 20 years or so in Johannesburg.

Yes, he was a most excitable snow man. Now he's only 2 inches high. And just like my boys, he's left his hat, gloves and scarf lying scattered across the lawn.
