BEND & FLEX






I’m a huge fan of writing prompts. I use them on the train into work and sometimes manage to get 500 words written before we pull into my station. I find them useful for getting the creative juices flowing and also for developing the habit of writing without judgment – it’s only a warm-up exercise after all, just stretching my writing muscles before I get down to the “serious” writing on my WIP. I’ve noticed that the creativity I’ve stimulated with a writing prompt often spills over into my WIP and my internal editor forgets to pipe up for a short while. Now that’s a good thing.

So here’s one for you to try. Bend and flex your writing muscle by free writing for 5 minutes (or more) starting with:
