THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES

******
I just discovered Robert Lee Brewer's blog Poetic Asides.

He's running a PAD Challenge (poem a day). It's open to anyone from those who prefer to write poetry in a certain style to those who barely have a clue (me!). There will be a prompt each day and you can post your poetic efforts in the comments of his blog if you like. Today's prompt was to write a message poem. I gave it a whirl. My efforts didn't lead to anything worth sharing. so I turned to one of my favorite poems instead.

Here, I'll share the first stanza with you. You can click on the link in the title if you'd like to read the complete poem.

Daffodils
- William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

I love daffodils. They make me smile. How about you?

I saw a surprising clump of them in the woods this morning. A happy surprise. I was sorry I didn't have my camera with me, but it's a little dreary out, so maybe it's better that I'll go back tomorrow for some snaps.

I like daffodils because they discourage squirrels from eating the tulip bulbs planted next to them. :-)

And also because they are an early sign of spring.

Ooh, I love tulips too. I'm hoping to get to Holland again one of these days (and by that I mean years) for the tulip festival. I so want a photo of myself in a field of tulips with a windmill in the background. I love windmills.

Angela, are you originally from The Netherlands? (I'm guessing that because of your surname.)

Did you see this post of mine on Owl's Quill from last June?

and the next one?

No, not from Holland. I was born in England and grew up in South Africa. My hubby was born in Holland and grew up in South Africa. Now we live in USA. I've visited Holland a couple of times. Lovely country, lovely people. I'm going to visit your BlogSpot post links that you sent me now.
