Today is vacation Monday. Yippee no work for me!! We are travelling back from Wyndham today and I have had a wonderfully relaxed weekend away. I've caught up on some of my reading and managed to squeeze in two naps. Does it get any better than that?
Usually on a Monday I read poems on the train into work. Today I decided to read poems in the car on the way home. And how fitting, as we drive home and enjoy the lovely scenery, that the section of poetry I now find myself reading is titled Americana. As I read America The Beautiful by Katharine Lee Bates, I look out my window and feel her passion. This section in The Random House Treasury of Best-Loved Poems also includes Take Me Out To The Ball Game by Jack Norworth, Casey At The Bat by Ernest Lawrence Thayer and The Man On The Flying Trapeze by Anonymous.
Then I snuck in another nap.
