Hats off to me!

I have my Christmas cards out already. This is an absolute first. Usually I'm scrambling to get them mailed out during the last few days before Christmas which means that my family and friends overseas receive them late. Better late than never, I always say, along with, better out than in. But this year, somehow my intentions and actions coincided and the cards are on their merry way.

And that's not all.

Some people in our neighborhood start putting up their holiday decorations right after Halloween, never mind waiting for the day after Thanksgiving. We on the other hand, usually manage to get the lights up a week or so before Christmas. This year are halls are already decked. Fa la la la la, la la la la.

And that's not all.

I took a page out of my friend's parenting book and demanded that M and S have their Santa lists ready by Thanksgiving. My husband loves Amazon.com and so, with a click and a swipe (no magic wand necessary) most of our Christmas shopping is done.

And that's not all.

For the last four or five Christmasses we've traveled to England or New Zealand so that we could celebrate the holidays with family. This year we decided we'd like to be in our own home for Christmas. My parents are joining us from England, so we'll have a festive family feast this year too. My dad makes a killer turkey and my mom's sage and onion stuffing is to die for. They arrive on Thursday and guess what? I already have their room ready.

It's only December 10th and I'm ahead of the game. Not quite a Christmas miracle but certainly a string of firsts for me. I'm so chuffed!

And on that note, I wish you all a very merry holiday season. Please don't be overwhelmed with the Christmas crazies and don't forget the "goodwill to all men."

Your pudding is awesome! John will be over the moon. And as far as our Christmas feast goes, that's one less thing for me to worry about. Thank you muchly.

I'm certainly happier now that I've seen your adorable ducky ornament!

Wow. I'm impressed! Historically, I could never manage most of what you accomplished so I just gave up trying. Now I just concentrate on getting the gifts bought and wrapped in time and not completely turning into a Grinch. :)

This is probably a once in a lifetime event for me. And it was mostly accidental. Avoiding Grinchiness is key to a good holiday. But not always easy as it can be a crazy time of year. Good luck with the gift buying and wrapping.
