One face resigned, the other face a little glum and not quite wide awake - my boys headed out the door. I know once they get on board the bus, and spill out onto the school steps, reuniting with friends lost over the summer, their smiles and happy mood will return. Perhaps the note I put in their lunch boxes along with some fun-sized candy and a poem by Valerie Worth will ease the transition back to school.
